Dollar Tree Pumpkin DIY

This Dollar Tree Pumpkin DIY is super cute and easy to make. Plus, it only cost me 3 dollars! It could cost you an extra dollar if you don’t have twine on hand like I did. OR it could cost you less if you already have more than one item on hand. The materials needed are very common craft materials.

This Dollar Tree Pumpkin DIY is perfect for a door hanger or adding to your fall decorations on the mantel.

Let’s get to it!

Materials Need For Your DIY Pumpkin Craft

Pumpkin decoration from Dollar Tree or another pumpkin-shaped frame

Kitchen towel from Dollar Tree or fabric of choice

Jute Twine

Ribbon, burlap, or fall flowers for embellishment

Glue gun

Scissors

How To Make Your Pumpkin Door Hanger

Step 1 – Remove all of the orange and green plastic grass from the pumpkin decoration. You should be left with just the pumpkin frame.

Step 2 – Lay the towel or fabric upside down and lay the pumpkin frame upside down on top of the fabric. Trim the towel with scissors so that it’s much closer to the size of the frame. Leave an extra inch or two to allow plenty of fabric for gluing.

Step 3 – Glue the towel to the pumpkin frame. Pull it tight to keep the shape of the pumpkin. I also added glue in the middle and pushed the towel to the ridges of the pumpkin to help it stay even more true to its pumpkin shape.

Step 4 – Wrap the stem in jute twine and secure with hot glue.

Step 5 – Make a bow with your ribbon of choice and glue that toward the top of the pumpkin, under the stem. You can also add fall flowers or leaves instead of a bow.

Step 6 – Add a piece of twine to the back to use for hanging up on your door. Leave the piece of twine off, if this pumpkin will be sitting on your mantel.

That’s it! Super easy, super cute, and super cheap.

I am so excited for the fall season. Do you think it is too early to decorate for the fall?
